Performing a factory reset on HTC One S

If you’re passing HTC One S on to someone else or HTC One S has a persistent problem that cannot be solved, you can perform a factory reset (also called a hard reset).
 
Warning: Factory reset will permanently delete all your data and customized settings, and will remove any applications you’ve downloaded and installed. Be sure to back up any data and files you want to keep before you do a factory reset.

Performing a factory reset from settings

  1. Slide the Notifications panel open, and then tap howtoimage.
  2. Tap Storage > Factory data reset.
  3. Tap Reset phone, and then tap Erase everything.

Performing a factory reset using hardware buttons

If you can’t turn HTC One S on or access settings, you can still perform a factory reset by using the hardware buttons on HTC One S.
  1. Press and hold the VOLUME DOWN button, and then press and hold the POWER button.
  2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release the POWER and VOLUME DOWN buttons.
  3. Press VOLUME DOWN to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the POWER button.

Performing a factory reset on HTC One X

Factory reset from settings
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Select Storage.
  3. Then tap on Factory data reset ~ Erases all data on phone.
  4. Check Erase all data ~ Erase music, pictures and all data on the storage (Note – Only do so if you wish to delete them).
  5. Then select Reset phone.
  6. Finally, select Erase everything.
  7. That’s all.
Factory reset using hardware buttons
Note – Use this method when can’t turn HTC One X on or access settings
  1. Press and hold the Volume Down button, and then press and hold the Power button.
  2. Wait for the screen with the three Android images to appear, and then release all the buttons.
  3. Press Volume Down to select FACTORY RESET, and then press the Power button.
  4. That’s all.

Samsung i997 Infuse 4G hard reset Instructions


 
All data will be lost!
Press and hold VOLUME UP + DOWN + POWER on i997, release only POWER key, but keep pressing VOL +/- for 8 sec., in recovery menu (Vol DOWN to highlight, POWER key to select) then select Delete all user data.

or Tap Applications ➔ Settings ➔ Location and security. Tap Clear storage.

Infuse 4G Safe mode


1. Make sure your phone is turned off.
2. Press and hold the power key to boot up your device.
3. After the “Rethink Possible” letters change from blue to black, continually tap the MENU Samsung i997 Infuse 4G hard reset key.
When the Home screen is displayed, Safe mode is displayed in the lower left corner of the screen.

How to Reset Nokia Lumia 900

If your device is not working or you want to sell the device, then you could reset it back to the factory default.
Soft Reset
With most device you would be able to pull out the battery and a soft reset is done, but with the Nokia Lumia 900 you will have to do something differently, here's how:
1. Press and hold the Volume Down and Power keys until you have it vibrates 3 times, then release all the keys.

Hard Reset
When soft reset does not do the trick, then you ought to use this option. Please note, if you try this option make sure that you have backup all your data.
1. Proceed to backup your valuable data.
2. Next turn off your phone.
3. Now press and hold the Volume Down, Power and Camera key simultaneously until you feel your phone vibrates, then release the Power key and continue to hold the Volume Down and Camera key for a further 5 seconds.
Now your phone should start to return to the factory default settings.

Menu Settings

1. Go back to the Home screen.

2. Click on the right arrow right-arrow-windows-phone-7 button.
3. Then scroll down the screen and select Settings.

5. Then select Reset your Phone near the bottom of the screen.

6. Tap on the Yes button when the warning screen appears.

Factory Data Reset

  1. From the screen of your phone, press the Menu button 
  2. Tap Settings.
  3. Scroll down and tap Privacy        
  4. Tap Factory Data Reset
  5. Check Erase internal storage if you would like to erase all the data on the phone internal storage such as applications, music, movies or photos.
  6. Tap Reset Phone

Note: It is highly recommended you use the above factory reset using the settingsIf you are unable to navigate through the menu to perform a factory data reset, you can follow the steps outlined below:
  1. Power up the phone by pressing the VOL UP + VOL DOWN KEY together + PWR KEY .
  2. The device will enumerate with different BOOT OPTIONS
  3. Use the VOL DOWN Key to SCROLL and VOL UP Key to SELECT
  4. Select Recovery
  5. The device will start up with Motorola logo and power up to  a little Android man logo with Exclamation mark
  6. Press the VOL UP and VOL DOWN Key together at this screen
  7. The device will display BLUE Text on a Black background .
  8. Use the VOL DOWN Key to scroll DOWN and the PWR Key to SELECT the option desired .
  9. In this case , press the VOL DOWN key till the Wipe data / factory reset is selected and press the PWR key to confirm the selection .
  10. Use the VOL DOWN key again to select YES - delete all user data and press the PWR key to CONFIRM .
  11. The device will then start performing the Factory Data Reset
  12. Once the Formatting is complete , press the PWR key to confirm a REBOOT
  13. The message rebooting is displayed on the phone.
  14. The device will reboot and start the normal power up sequence .
